Job summary

Global Placements seeks a senior Civil Engineering professional to lead contractor teams on MRT line construction and upgrade projects in Singapore. You will ensure safety, quality, schedule progress, and stakeholder engagement while guiding risk and cashflow planning along with instructions and variation assessments.

The role requires a recognised civil engineering degree, 5+ years of MRT/rail or tunnelling experience, and strong PM, English communication and leadership abilities to drive

Job description

Lead role managing contractors in the construction of new MRT lines and enhancements to existing lines, including station and tunnel construction (elevated or underground) and addition/alteration works. Responsible for contractors’ safety, quality, progress, stakeholder management and environmental impact, while assisting with planning and management of contract risks and cashflows, issuance of instructions, and assessment of variations, payments and claims.

Requirements:

• Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution, professionally accredited (accrediting body to be confirmed).
• At least 5 years’ relevant experience in MRT, metro or railway projects; or expertise in deep excavation/tunnel construction using Tunnel Boring Machines (EPB or slurry systems);
• Substantial civil engineering experience in high-rise buildings or viaduct construction.
• Requires strong project management and leadership, effective written/spoken English and presentation skills, and an analytical, resourceful, result-oriented team-player approach.
