Job summary

Government Technology Agency is seeking a Senior/Executive/Project Engineer, Civil to lead contractor management for MRT line projects in Singapore.

You will oversee stations and tunnels, ensure safety, quality, progress and environmental impact, and help plan risks and cashflows while handling instructions, variations and payments.

Successful candidates may be considered for senior positions; project offices may be located in Changi or Tuas.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of civil engineering and local codes related to transit construction.
• Experience leading large infrastructure projects with safety and quality focus.
• Underground construction experience is advantageous.
• Strong interfacing skills between civil work and trackwork.
• Demonstrated project management and leadership capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

What the role is

SENIOR / EXECUTIVE / PROJECT ENGINEER, CIVIL

What you will be working on

You will play a lead role in managing the Contractors in the construction of new MRT Lines and / or enhancement to Existing Lines. You will be involved in the management of the contractors for Stations and Tunnel constructions in elevated or underground constructions. You will be responsible for the safety, quality, progress and environment impact of the Contractors’ works. You will also assist in planning and managing the risks and cashflows of the various contracts as well as the issuance of instructions and assessment of variations/payments/claims.

What we are looking for

• Knowledge in Civil Engineering with familiarity with the relevant local codes and transit construction
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects
• Underground construction experience, particularly in deep excavation and tunnelling works will be an added advantage
• A good appreciation of the constraints and interface requirements of civil and trackwork
• Strong project management capabilities with demonstrated leadership experience
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Team player who is analytical, resourceful and results-oriented
• Successful candidates may be required to work from project offices located in Changi or Tuas area
• Candidates with strong relevant years of experience may be considered for senior positions
