Job summary

TALENT-MERGE PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced accounting professional to oversee the full set of accounting functions in a fast-paced maritime environment.

The role requires delivering accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual closings, along with preparing financial statements and management reports. You will handle intercompany transactions, consolidations, and statutory reporting under SFRS, GST, and corporate tax regimes, while strengthening internal controls and guiding the accounting team

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in accounting/finance or related field; professional qualifications (ACCA/CPA/ICAEW) preferred.
• 3–5 years of full-set accounting experience in maritime/shipping industry.
• Solid knowledge of SFRS, GST, taxation, and statutory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full spectrum of accounting functions and timely closing activities.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and analyses to support planning.
• Manage accounts payable/receivable, GL entries, reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring.
• Coordinate reporting across entities including intercompany transactions and consolidation.
• Support audits, liaise with tax agents and regulators to ensure compliance.
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to improve cost efficiency.
• Strengthen internal controls and reporting processes; guide accounting team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the full spectrum of accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial records and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities.
• Compile comprehensive financial statements, management reports, and financial analyses to support business planning and decision-making.
• Handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, and other day-to-day accounting activities.
• Coordinate financial reporting across multiple entities, including intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and consolidation of accounts.
• Monitor cash flow, banking transactions, and working capital requirements to maintain effective financial operations.
• Facilitate annual statutory audits and liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and relevant regulatory authorities to ensure compliance.
• Administer GST submissions, corporate tax matters, and statutory reporting in accordance with Singapore accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reports, providing recommendations to improve cost efficiency and financial performance.
• Strengthen internal financial controls, accounting procedures, and reporting processes to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
• Collaborate with management and internal stakeholders on financial matters while guiding accounting team members to ensure timely completion of deliverables.

Requirements

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, required to also have certified accounting qualifications such as ACCA,CPA Australia ,ICAEW
• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant full-set accounting experience in the maritime or shipping industry.
• Sound knowledge of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS), GST regulations, taxation, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting software, with the ability to manage financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing independently.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and well-organised, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
