Job summary

Union International Trading Pte. Ltd. is seeking an experienced accounting professional to manage full sets of accounts, including GL, AP, AR and bank reconciliations, and to perform monthly, quarterly and year-end closings.

You will prepare management accounts, financial reports, GST calculations and cash-flow analyses for a trading-focused business in Singapore. A strong understanding of data integrity, reconciliations and reporting is essential.

Qualifications

• Advance Diploma/Degree in Accounting or Finance or related discipline.
• 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience in trading/wholesale environments.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations and month-end closing.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Handle full sets of accounts including GL, AP, AR and bank reconciliations.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Manage accounting for trading transactions, inventory and COGS.
• Monitor inventory and inter-company balances; perform FX revaluations.
• Prepare GST calculations and support GST submissions.
• Prepare cash flow reports and monitor cash position.
• Review invoices, payments, receipts and supporting documents.
• Assist with annual audit and tax matters; liaise with auditors and external parties.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls and reporting.

Job Description:

• Handle full sets of accounts, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and bank reconciliations.
• Perform monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports and relevant schedules.
• Manage accounting for trading transactions, including purchases, sales, inventory and cost of goods sold.
• Monitor and reconcile inventory and inter-company balances.
• Handle foreign currency transactions and perform foreign exchange revaluation.
• Prepare GST calculations and support GST submissions.
• Prepare cash flow reports and monitor the company's cash position.
• Review invoices, payment requests, receipts and supporting documents.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, bank sand other external parties.
• Assist with annual audit and tax matters.
• Ensure accounting records are maintained accurately and in accordance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards(SFRS).
• Assist management with financial analysis, budgeting and other ad-hoc finance projects
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls and reporting.

Job Requirements:

• Advance Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent is an advantage.
• 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a trading, distribution, wholesale or similar environment.
• Accounting & Financial Reporting – Good understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
• Attention to Detail & Accuracy – High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial transactions, reconciliations, and accounting records.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to analyse financial information, identify discrepancies, investigate issues, and provide appropriate solutions.
• Commodity Trading Awareness – Understanding of trading transactions, inventory, trade settlements, trading costs, and P&L is an advantage.
