Zusammenfassung

Nanyang Technological University’s School of Materials Science and Engineering is seeking a Project Officer / Research Associate to establish and run a new chemistry research laboratory in Singapore. You will oversee procurement, licensing, instrument installation, and safety to ensure reliable, auditable data.

You will coordinate with the PI, facilities, and vendors, maintain inventories, manage budgets, and prepare risk assessments, SOPs and reports.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or related field; Master’s for RA.
• At least one year of hands-on lab or research support experience.
• Bench experience with chemical handling, storage and disposal, and safe lab practices.
• Familiarity with Singapore regulatory framework for chemical licensing and safety.
• Strong written and oral communication; ability to draft procedures and risk assessments.
• Proficiency with standard office and procurement systems.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

Aufgaben

• Set up and commission the new laboratory, coordinating with PI, research fellows, facilities management and external contractors.
• Manage day-to-day procurement, deliveries, and inventory via the university purchasing system; liaise with suppliers.
• Prepare and maintain regulatory licences, permits, risk assessments, SOPs and training records; support audits.
• Oversee calibration and maintenance of instruments; coordinate vendor support and access to core facilities.
• Produce regular reports on setup progress, compliance, assets, inventory and budgets; liaise with central functions.
