Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Molecular Biology or related discipline.
• Experience in laboratory management, procurement, equipment maintenance or research administration is advantageous.
• Highly organised, responsible and detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills; ability to coordinate with researchers, staff, vendors.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management and general operation of the laboratory.
• Manage procurement of consumables, reagents and equipment, including quotations and ordering.
• Maintain inventories and ensure adequate stocks of reagents and supplies.
• Coordinate maintenance, calibration and repair of equipment with vendors and university units.
• Maintain documentation and support compliance with laboratory safety, biosafety and admin requirements.
