Job summary

The Garcha Group in Singapore is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily culinary operations. You will set up and maintain kitchen workstations, prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes while upholding quality and presentation.

Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service, maintain hygiene standards and manage stock levels. English proficiency and 1–2 years in hospitality are preferred; Marriott-affiliated benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Professional Certificate/NITEC or equivalent qualification, plus valid WSQ Food Safety Level 1.
• Fluent in English for guest and staff communication.
• 1–2 years hospitality experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain kitchen workstations, ensuring ingredients, equipment and supplies are ready.
• Prepare ingredients for service, including chopping vegetables, portioning meat, preparing sauces and other prep tasks.
• Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes, portion standards and presentation guidelines.
• Coordinate with kitchen team to ensure food is prepared and served quickly and consistently.
• Follow directions from Executive/Sous Chef and senior kitchen personnel.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, equipment and prep areas.
• Ensure proper food storage, labeling, stock rotation and handling of leftovers to minimize waste.
• Monitor inventory levels and replenish ingredients as required.
• Adhere to hygiene regulations, sanitation requirements and safety standards.
• Maintain positive teamwork with colleagues and other departments.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
