Job summary

RENDER PRIVATE LIMITED in Singapore is seeking an Assistant Cook to support Cooks in preparing and arranging noodle dishes while keeping the kitchen orderly and stocked for service.

You will assist with food preparation, cleaning, inventory management, and the proper operation of kitchen appliances, ensuring hygiene, safety, and cost control. Fluency in English and ability to communicate with Mandarin-speaking customers are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or high school diploma required.
• At least two years sales experience in related fields.
• Must be able to communicate with Mandarin-speaking customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist Cook in food preparation and ingredient handling.
• Clean and sanitise food preparation areas daily.
• Wash and store utensils and equipment properly.
• Operate kitchen appliances and instruments safely.
• Manage inventory and organize storeroom.
• Contribute to quality of service and productivity programs.
• Maintain clean work areas and equipment.
• Develop new menu items and improvise existing ones.
• Control kitchen expenses, food costs, inventory, and staffing within budget.

Job Description:

An Assistant Cook, or Assistant Chef ensures the kitchen is orderly and assists Cooks to prepare and arrange noodle food. Their duties include cleaning the kitchen area, washing dishes and utensils and ensuring that the Cook has everything required to run the kitchen efficiently.

Assistant Cook duties and responsibilities:

• Assisting the Cook in food preparation activities, such as cleaning, food ingredients
• Cleaning and sanitising the food preparation areas based on company and industry hygiene codes and health and safety standards
• Washing, disinfecting and properly storing cooking and kitchen utensils and equipment
• Operating a variety of kitchen appliances and instruments including cutters, knives, mixers and ovens
• Managing inventory, unloading supplies and organising the storeroom
• Participates in and/or contributes to programs or projects designed to improve quality of service and employee productivity.
• Maintains clean work areas, utensils, and equipment.
• Develop new menu items while improvising the existing ones.
• Maintain and manage kitchen expenses,food costs, inventory, and staffing with in budgetary limits.
