Job summary

Chanel Singapore is seeking a Retail Operations Manager to elevate store performance through robust inventory management, planning, governance, and an exceptional client experience across the boutique network.

You will lead SOP adherence, audits, stock replenishment, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with HR, Finance, VM, and stores to ensure timely execution of openings, launches, and initiatives while sustaining operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary operational liaison for the retail organization including after-hours support when required.
  • Ensure consistent execution of SOPs, policies, and standards across boutiques and counters.
  • Lead audits, health & safety, and governance initiatives; close corrective actions timely.
  • Coordinate store openings, relocations, renovations, and closures.
  • Prepare and maintain retail performance reporting (sales, traffic, productivity, dashboards).
  • Drive inventory health with replenishment planning, stock cover, ageing, sell-through and OOS risk.
  • Support planning, launches, and events; partner with HR for onboarding of new staff.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Retail, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, VM, Store Projects, Marketing.

About the Role: To elevate retail performance by driving operational excellence across inventory management, planning, governance, and communication, ensuring stores are optimally equipped to deliver commercial results while consistently providing an exceptional client experience.

WHAT IMPACT YOU CAN CREATE AT CHANEL
Retail Operations Management
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison for the retail organization, including support during critical business periods outside office hours when required.
  • Ensure consistent execution of retail SOPs, policies, and operational standards across all boutiques and counters.
  • Lead compliance initiatives covering audits, health & safety, and operational governance.
  • Conduct store audits and drive timely closure of corrective actions.
  • Manage operational issue resolution and escalation to minimize business disruption.
  • Coordinate store openings, relocations, renovations, and closures.
  • Oversee retail administration including uniforms, stationery, name cards, and operational supplies.
  • Support the planning and execution of retail initiatives, operational processes, launches, and events.
  • Prepare and maintain retail performance reporting, including sales, traffic, productivity, and operational dashboards.
  • Identify operational best practices and drive continuous improvement across the retail network.
  • Manage monthly overtime reporting and workforce administration.
  • Coordinate onboarding activities for new retail employees, partnering closely with HR and key stakeholders.
  • Support store maintenance and facilities management, including vendor engagement, contract renewals, and issue resolution.
2. Inventory & Supply Planning
  • Manage replenishment strategies to maintain optimal stock availability across all distribution channels.
  • Drive inventory health through effective management of stock cover, availability, ageing inventory, sell-through, and out-of-stock risks.
  • Analyze sales trends and inventory performance to recommend proactive replenishment actions.
  • Manage e-commerce inventory allocation and replenishment planning.
  • Support newness allocation and launch planning to maximize commercial performance and align with business priorities.
  • Prepare inventory reports and actionable insights to support decision-making.
  • Coordinate order processing and daily inventory operations with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor trade partner inventory levels and follow up on purchase orders to ensure stock sufficiency at point of sale.
  • Maintain pricing, trade margins, and product master data accuracy within systems.
  • Build strong partnerships with trade partners to support commercial objectives.
  • Coordinate supply and delivery timelines to ensure seamless product availability.
  • Manage vendor creation, purchase order generation, invoice processing, and finance submissions.
3. Retail Planning & Administration
  • Monitor sales, sell-through, productivity, and NSI performance against targets, identifying risks and opportunities through data-driven insights.
  • Support monthly business reviews and commercial performance analyses.
  • Partner with stores and stakeholders to improve sales productivity, inventory productivity, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support retail expense planning, tracking, and follow-up.
  • Prepare commercial reports including competitor benchmarking, store rankings, service performance, and ad-hoc analyses.
4. Commercial Performance Support
  • Track sales performance, sell through performance for NSI against targets and identify risks/opportunities with clear actionable insights.
  • Support preparation of business reviews and performance analyses.
  • Partner with stores and internal stakeholders to improve productivity, stock productivity, and operational efficiency.
  • Be involved in monthly/annual retail expense planning and follow-up
  • Provide reporting support (e.g.: competitors sales/activities survey, Store ranking report, Services report)
5. Retail Governance & Communication
  • Act as the key communication bridge between office and the retail community.
  • Lead retail communications, operational updates, and implementation of new initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and effective execution of retail directives across all stores.
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with Retail, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, VM, Store Projects, Marketing, and external partners.
  • Support One-House initiatives through effective stakeholder engagement and alignment.
6. Retail Engagement & Activation Support
  • Lead the planning and execution of retail engagement and recognition programs.
  • Support operational readiness and execution of product launches, campaigns, and commercial activations.
  • Ensure stores are fully prepared to deliver key business moments and client experiences.
  • Monitor execution quality and evaluate post-event performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
7. Project Management
  • Represent Retail Operations in cross-functional project discussions and governance forums.
  • Lead or support projects and transformation initiatives as assigned.
  • Manage project timelines, deliverables, risks, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Ensure successful implementation and operational integration of new initiatives.
8. CSR & Sustainability
  • Support the implementation of sustainability and CSR initiatives across the retail network.
  • Monitor compliance and reporting requirements related to sustainability programs.
  • Drive awareness and adoption of sustainable retail practices within stores.
