Job summary

SATS Ltd. is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the preparation and packing of food items in a fast-paced central kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will help ensure food is prepared safely, hygienically, and to quality standards.

Responsibilities include washing and portioning ingredients, assembling items for packing, following recipes, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with stock and FIFO inventory. Shift work and weekend availability are required.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand basic English.
• Previous kitchen, catering, or food preparation experience is an advantage.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, slicing, and portioning food items.
• Assemble and pack salads, sandwiches, desserts, fruit platters, and other kitchen products.
• Assist with food portioning, plating, and packing according to production requirements.
• Follow recipes, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, labeling, and temperature control.
• Support stock receiving and inventory rotation using FIFO practices.
• Comply with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety requirements.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors.

Physical Requirements

• Able to stand for long hours.
• Comfortable working in cold preparation areas.
• Able to lift and carry loads of up to 25kg.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
