Job summary

Simpson Spence Young LLP (SSY) is seeking a Broker Support & Data Analyst for its Dry Cargo - Capesize team in Singapore. The role blends market intelligence, data analytics, and commercial broker support to provide insights for broker decisions and client engagement.

You will work with brokers and the global research desk to forecast market volumes and trends, validate data, and develop dashboards. 2+ years in shipping plus SQL/Excel skills are required, with Python knowledge a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant experience in Commercial Shipping
• Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies or a related discipline
• Proficient in SQL and Microsoft Excel
• Basic knowledge of Python will be an advantage
• Articulate with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate market lists for tonnage and cargo across Capesize markets.
• Provide market intelligence and forecasting insights to support brokers and desk decisions.
• Prepare reports and dashboards; review data quality and ETL processes.
