Qualifications

5+ years of freight/commodity research experience.
Deep understanding of dry-bulk freight and seaborne trade fundamentals.
Ability to develop forward-looking market views and analytical models.
Experience handling large datasets; familiarity with data warehouses/Databricks is a plus.

Responsibilities

Own the Capesize freight market view with short-, medium-, and long-term outlooks.
Lead iron ore and bauxite research and translate fundamentals into cargo demand.
Monitor key freight and commodity-market drivers to spot shifts in balances.
Develop scenario analyses around market uncertainties and translate insights into actionable views.
Use SQL and Python to analyze large datasets and build analytical tools and indicators.
Automate workflows and collaborate with data engineering to enhance market forecasting.
