Job summary

ALTERNATIVE SELECTION PTE. LTD. is seeking a motivated butcher/ meat handler to join our on-site team in Singapore.

The role involves inspecting meat upon arrival, ensuring safety standards, and performing trimming, deboning, portioning, slicing, and processing to specifications. You will maintain clean equipment and a sanitary work environment while assisting customers and handling sales transactions. Applicants should have at least 3 years of experience in food- or butchery-related industries

Qualifications

• Basic English literacy.
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in food- or butchery-related industry.
• WSQ certification in basic food hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Inspect goods on arrival to ensure correct temperature and condition before storage.
• Follow hygiene and safety standards for meat handling and storage.
• Perform trimming, deboning, portioning, slicing, and processing to specifications.
• Ensure meat processing equipment is clean and in working order.
• Maintain an organized, sanitary work environment.
• Record sampling, wastage, and daily production/sales.
• Prepare sales transactions and provide service to customers.
• Execute other ad-hoc duties as required.

The Butcher provides various services such as, but not limited to, weighing, wrapping, cutting, and trimming meat from larger wholesale portions in a retail or factory environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Upon goods receiving, inspect and ensure meat is at the correct temperature and condition before storage
• Ensure that meat handling and storage procedures comply with hygiene and safety standards
• Operate and perform meat-cutting functions including trimming, deboning, portioning, slicing, and processing to specifications
• Ensure that meat processing equipment is in clean and good working conditions
• Maintain an organised and sanitary work environment
• Record sampling, wastage, and daily production/sales
• Prepare sales transactions
• Provide service to customers, meeting their needs and expectations
• Execute other ad-hoc duties, as required

Job Requirements:

• Basic literacy in English language
• Minimum 3 years of work experience in food- or butchery-related industry
• WSQ certification in basic food hygiene
