Responsibilities

• Wrap, weigh, label and price cuts of meat.
• Prepare meat products using equipment such as grinders, scales, wrapping machines, saws and knives.
• Display meat cuts to be attractive to shoppers.
• Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
• Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats for cooking forms.
• Estimate requirements and order meat supplies to maintain inventories.
• Receive, inspect, and store meat on delivery to ensure quality.
• Record quantities of meat received and issued to cooks or for sales.
• Shape, lace, and tie roasts using boning knife, skewer, and twine.
• Cure, smoke, tenderize and preserve meat.
• Total sales and collect money from customers.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards per store specifications and local regulations.
• Assist with other tasks as assigned by management.

Job description

Reporting to the Head Butcher, you will assist in ensuring the smooth running of service operations in various aspects.

Role and Responsibilities

• Wrap, weigh, label and price cuts of meat. (Preparation of meat products may include using equipment, such as grinders, power jacks, scales, wrapping machines, saws and knives)
• Prepare and place meat cuts and products in display counter, so they will appear attractive and catch the shopper's eye.
• Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers.
• Cut, trim, bone, tie, and grind meats, such as beef, poultry, and fish, to prepare meat incooking form.
• Estimate requirements and order or requisition meat supplies to maintain inventories.
• Receive, inspect, and store meat upon delivery, to ensure meat quality.
• Record quantity of meat received and issued to cooks and/or keep records of meat sales.
• Shape, lace, and tie roasts, using boning knife, skewer, and twine.
• Cure, smoke, tenderize and preserve meat.
• Total sales and collect money from customers.
• Maintain safety and sanitation standards according to the store's specifications and to stay in compliance with local regulations
• Any other tasks as and when assigned by Management
