Job summary

RRecruiter is seeking a Business Development Manager for a Singapore-based MNC in freight forwarding and logistics. The role emphasizes aggressive new customer acquisition and portfolio growth across target verticals, with close collaboration to ensure feasible service delivery.

The position requires researching, cold calling, networking and industry event participation to secure leads, prepare quotations and RFQs, and monitor sales pipelines and forecasts for senior management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Logistics & Container Shipping
• Experience in import/export and cross-trade operations
• Experience with SME clients and target verticals (Agriculture, FMCG, Metals, Chemicals)
• Self-motivated, target-driven hunter with proven sales track record
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in MS Office

Key Responsibilities

• Drive new customer acquisition (hunter role) and aggressively build a strong portfolio across target verticals.
• Identify leads through research, cold calling, networking, and industry events to execute strategic sales/route development plans.
• Conduct competitor analysis and handle market intelligence within sectors like forestry, agriculture, metals, and FMCG.
• Prepare competitive rate quotations, pricing proposals, and RFQs while maintaining margin control.
• Collaborate closely with operations and pricing teams to guarantee service feasibility and execution quality.
• Monitor and report sales pipelines, forecasts, and conversion metrics to management.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in the Logistics & Container Shipping Industry.
• Strong background in import/export and cross-trade operations.
• Preferred experience handling SME clients and target verticals (Agriculture, FMCG, Metals, Chemicals).
• Highly motivated, target-driven hunter with a proven sales track record.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
