Job summary

GI HR SERVICES PTE. LTD. in Malaysia seeks a Business Development Manager to lead market expansion for EPC solutions in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical and Electronics sectors across Malaysia and Brunei.

You will manage a major Oil & Gas key account and drive end-to-end tender submissions from lead origination to contract signature. The candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Mechanical/Process Engineering with 4–8 years of technical sales or proposal management experience

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering with 4 to 8 years of experience in technical sales, business development, proposal management, or cost estimating within the EPC, industrial gas, or process equipment sectors.
• Knowledge of Malaysian and Bruneian industrial corridors.
• Experience in CapEx estimation / cost engineering is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Regional Business Growth: Identify and capture turnkey plant sales (Lump-Sum Turnkey EPC) and long-term utility supply opportunities across Malaysia and Brunei.
• Key Account Execution: Serve as the lead commercial contact for a major Oil & Gas key account, securing early positioning for greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Proposal & Estimating: Direct cross-functional tender submissions (RFPs/RFQs). Utilize cost estimation insights to evaluate CapEx/OpEx calculations, verify vendor quotes, and optimize competitive bid pricing.

About the Role

Our Client provides turnkey EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) and T-EPC solutions for industrial gas production plants, process facilities, and ultra-high purity (UHP) cleanroom gas distribution infrastructure.

We are seeking a Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead market expansion and project sales across Malaysia and Brunei within the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, and Electronics/Semiconductor sectors. In this position, you will also manage a major Malaysian Oil & Gas key account and lead end-to-end tender submissions from lead origination to contract signature.

Key Responsibilities

• Regional Business Growth: Identify and capture turnkey plant sales (Lump-Sum Turnkey EPC) and long-term utility supply opportunities (Build-Own-Operate) across Malaysia and Brunei.
• Key Account Execution: Serve as the lead commercial contact for a major Oil & Gas key account, securing early positioning for greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Proposal & Estimating: Direct cross-functional tender submissions (RFPs/RFQs). Utilize cost estimation insights to evaluate CapEx/OpEx calculations, verify vendor quotes, and optimize competitive bid pricing.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Process Engineering with 4 to 8 years of experience in technical sales, business development, proposal management, or cost estimating within the EPC, industrial gas, or process equipment sectors.
• Regional Ecosystem Exposure: Working knowledge of Malaysian and Bruneian industrial corridors (e.g., PETRONAS vendor ecosystems, regional petrochemical hubs, or Penang/Kulim semiconductor corridors).
• Cost Estimating (High Advantage): Prior experience in CapEx estimating, quantity surveying, or cost engineering for process plants/piping is highly advantageous.

Target Profile Alignment (Who Should Apply)

• This position is ideal for Process/Equipment Sales Engineers/Managers selling rotating equipment, pressure vessels, skids, or gas treatment packages to energy and chemical operators.
• Subcontractor BD Executives/Manager specializing in cleanroom piping, high-purity gas delivery systems, or mechanical fabrication for refineries and semiconductor fabs.
