Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
InternSG in Singapore offers a hands-on internship designed to expose you to how businesses identify opportunities, solve problems and turn ideas into action. You’ll work with the team on a range of projects, with opportunities to contribute rather than observe.
Your responsibilities include supporting strategic and commercial projects, researching industries and markets, preparing presentations and supporting materials for internal and external use.
This internship is designed to give you hands-on exposure to how businesses identify opportunities, solve problems and turn ideas into action. You’ll work alongside the team on a range of projects, with the opportunity to contribute rather than simply observe.
Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting strategic and commercial projects from initial research through to execution.
Gathering and analysing information on companies, industries, markets and emerging opportunities.
Exploring business challenges and helping develop practical recommendations.
Participating in discussions around new ideas, initiatives and growth opportunities.
Preparing presentations, business proposals, reports and supporting materials for internal and external use.
Assisting with the planning and development of new projects and initiatives.
You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, challenge assumptions and bring your own perspective to the work. Over time, you’ll gain a better understanding of how professionals assess information, weigh different options and make decisions in a real business environment.
You’ll also gain exposure to the commercial side of the organisation, including marketing, customer acquisition and business development.
Depending on the project, you may contribute to:
Digital marketing and content campaigns.
Lead generation and customer acquisition activities.
Brand awareness and positioning initiatives.
Campaign performance analysis.
Business development and growth projects.
Testing new ideas, channels and approaches to improve reach and engagement.
A key part of the experience is learning to look beyond simply executing a campaign. You’ll have opportunities to review performance data, understand customer behaviour and identify what could be changed or improved.
Data, Research & Insights:
Real-world data will form an important part of your work. You may analyse business, operational or marketing information to help the team understand performance and make better decisions.
This could involve tracking key metrics, identifying trends, comparing results, preparing management reports or investigating areas where the business could improve.
You may also conduct research across areas such as financial markets, economic conditions, investment themes, industries and business trends. Depending on the project, your research may be developed into internal reports, market insights, educational materials, newsletters, articles or other forms of business content.
You’ll therefore experience the complete research process — from identifying reliable information and interpreting data to communicating your findings in a clear and useful way.
One of the key features of this internship is the opportunity to work across different areas of the business.
Your projects may expose you to areas such as:
Business and management consulting
Financial and mortgage consultancy
Investment research
Financial education
Marketing and communications
Business development
Training and development
Entrepreneurship
Operations and process improvement
This breadth of exposure can be particularly useful for students who are still exploring their career direction. Rather than being restricted to one function, you’ll see how different parts of a business interact and gain a clearer understanding of the types of work that interest you.
Ownership & Development:
As you progress, you’ll be encouraged to take increasing responsibility for your work. You may be given an independent research topic, asked to investigate a business issue, develop recommendations or support the launch of a new initiative.
You’ll have the opportunity to see your work move beyond the initial idea and understand how it contributes to broader business objectives. The goal is to help you become more confident in working independently, communicating your thinking and taking ownership of meaningful deliverables.
What You’ll Gain:
By the end of the internship, you’ll have practical exposure to real projects rather than purely theoretical exercises. You’ll develop a broader understanding of how strategy, consulting, marketing, finance, investments and entrepreneurship can work together within a business.
You can also expect to strengthen skills in:
Business and market research
Data analysis and interpretation
Strategic and analytical thinking
Problem-solving
Commercial awareness
Written and verbal communication
Presentation development
Project coordination
Independent working
Decision-making and recommendation building
Most importantly, you’ll gain a clearer perspective on how businesses operate, how decisions are made and where your own strengths and interests could take you professionally.
