Job summary

Maha Yu Yi Pte Ltd, a long-established Chinese bookstore in Singapore, is hiring a Bookstore Operations Assistant. The role focuses on packing, order fulfilment, inventory handling, and warehouse tasks in a bookstore setting.

Responsibilities include picking and packing orders, stock checks, and occasional support for deliveries or book fairs. The candidate should read and write Chinese, be comfortable with physical work, and work well in a small team.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Packing & order fulfilment: pick and pack orders, verify titles, and prepare parcels for delivery.
• Inventory & stock handling: receive shipments, shelve, label, and conduct stock checks.
• Operations support: assist with nearby deliveries and school book fairs when needed; maintain cleanliness.
• Book processing (optional): basic scanning and file organisation; training provided.

Job Opening: Bookstore Operations Assistant

(Packing / Inventory / Warehouse Support)

Maha Yu Yi is a long-established Chinese bookstore in Singapore, supporting retail, e‑commerce, and school book supply.

This role focuses mainly on packing, order fulfilment, inventory handling, and warehouse-related tasks in a bookstore environment.

Key Responsibilities

Packing & Order Fulfilment (Core Role)

• Pick and pack customer and school orders
• Verify Chinese book titles accurately against order lists
• Prepare parcels for delivery and courier collection
• Ensure accuracy and proper handling of outgoing stock

Inventory & Stock Handling

• Receive and unload incoming shipments
• Shelve, label, and organise books in storage areas
• Assist with stock-taking and inventory checks

Operations Support

• Assist with nearby deliveries when required
• Support packing/setup for school book fairs (occasionally)
• General operational and housekeeping duties

Book Processing (Optional / Good to Have)

• Basic scanning of book covers/pages
• File organisation for online store
• Training provided

Requirements

• Able to read and write Chinese (required for handling Chinese book titles and documents)
• Comfortable with physical work (lifting, packing, repetitive tasks)
• Detail-oriented and careful with picking accuracy
• Responsible, reliable, and able to work independently
• Team player with positive attitude

Candidates with packing / warehouse / inventory experience preferred
