Job summary

PAUL Bakery in Singapore seeks a Baker Commis to prepare a variety of baked goods, follow recipes, and maintain baking equipment. You will print daily orders, assist with inventory, and coordinate with drivers for deliveries.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, some bakery experience, and basic computer and math skills. Shift flexibility, teamwork, and physical stamina are essential for success in this busy kitchen.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a chef, baker’s assistant, or relevant work experience.
• Culinary Certificate is a Plus.
• Able to work early mornings, nights, midnight shifts and weekends.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Basic math skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
• Physical endurance to stand for entire shift.
• Team player, Self-motivated and self-directed.
• Physically able to move during the length of shift; lift up to 25 kg or more.
• Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment such as dough sheeter, slicer, divider, roller, mixers and ovens.

Responsibilities

• Follow existing standard recipes.
• Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients.
• Knead, roll, and prepare dough as needed.
• Monitor oven temperatures, speed settings, mixing machines and other equipment.
• Ensure food surfaces and equipment meet health and safety standards.
• Clean and maintain baking equipment, utensils and tools.
• Monitor items during mixing, proofing and baking; record temperatures.
• Decorate, glaze, pipe or apply icing as needed.
• Evaluate ingredients and food for quality.
• Adapt quantity of ingredients to match production.
