Job summary

Paul Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking a Baker Commis to prepare a variety of baked goods, including breads and viennoiseries, following established recipes.

You will operate and maintain bakery equipment, monitor oven temperatures, log temperatures, print daily orders, and assist with packing for deliveries. Strong basic computer skills and the ability to work early mornings, nights and weekends are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience as a chef, baker’s assistant, or in a similar role.
• Culinary certificate is a plus.
• Able to work early mornings, nights, midnights and weekends.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Basic math skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to multitask, prioritize and manage time.
• Physical endurance to stand for long shifts.
• Team player, self-motivated and self-directed.
• Physically able to lift up to 25 kg.
• Familiarity with professional kitchen equipment like dough sheeter, dough slicer, dough divider, dough roller, heavy duty mixers and ovens.

Responsibilities

• Follow existing standard recipes.
• Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients.
• Knead, roll, cut, and prepare dough as needed.
• Monitor oven temperatures and equipment according to SOPs.
• Ensure surfaces and equipment meet health standards.
• Clean and maintain equipment, utensils, and tools.
• Record temperatures in a log sheet.
• Decorate, glaze, or pipe icing as needed.
• Evaluate ingredients and product quality.
• Adjust ingredient quantities to match production needs.
• Operate slicing, cutting, and wrapping equipment.
• Order and receive supplies and materials.
• Prepare and pack baked goods for deliveries; coordinate with drivers.
• Arrange stock in freezers, chillers, or dry storage.
• Print orders and basic recipes daily and file them.
• Participate in inventory stock counting.
• Perform other duties as required by Head Baker or Supervisor.

BAKER JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a talented and organized Baker Commis. As our baker commis, you will prepare a variety of baked goods. You will follow existing recipes, and prepare large quantities of breads and viennoiseries. You will also be responsible for maintaining and cleaning all baking equipment. Basic computer basic knowledge is a must as Printing out of Orders on a Daily Basis is part of the Job.

BAKER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follow existing standard recipes.
• Measure, weigh, and prepare ingredients.
• Knead, roll, cut, and prepare dough as need.
• Monitor oven temperatures, speed settings, mixing machines, and other baking equipment in accordance to Standard Operating procedures.
• Ensure food surfaces and baking equipment meet all health and safety standards.
• Clean and maintain baking equipment, utensils, and tools.
• Monitor items during mixing, proofing and baking. Record the Temperature in a Log sheet.
• Decorate, glaze, Pipe or apply icing in baked goods if needed.
• Evaluate ingredients and food for quality.
• Adapt the quantity of ingredients and match the amount of items to be produce.
• Operate slicing, cutting, and wrapping equipment.
• Order and receive supplies, goods, and materials.
• Prepare and Pack baked goods for Deliveries. Coordinate with Drivers.
• Arrange stocks, baked goods and supplies in freezer, chillers or Dry storage.
• Printing out of Orders and Basic Recipe on a daily basis and File them properly.
• Participate in Inventory Stocks Counting.
• Perform other duties require by the Head Baker or Supervisor.

BAKER QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a chef, baker’s assistant, or relevant work experience.
• Culinary Certificate is a Plus
• Able to work early mornings, nights, midnight shifts and weekends.
