Job summary

Ling's Patisseries Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a bakery operative to support end-to-end production, from ingredients to finished goods. You will measure ingredients, mix doughs, proof and bake, and decorate cakes and pastries to meet brand standards.

This role emphasizes maintaining hygiene, stock control, equipment upkeep, and teamwork with kitchen and service staff to ensure on-time output during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Measure and prepare ingredients according to recipes
• Mix doughs and batters for cakes, breads, pastries, and desserts
• Proof dough and monitor fermentation time
• Prepare fillings, creams, and toppings
• Operate ovens and baking equipment safely
• Bake cakes, pastries, breads, cookies, and other baked goods
• Ensure consistent product quality, taste, and appearance
• Monitor baking times and adjust temperature when necessary
• Decorate cakes and pastries (cream, glaze, toppings)
• Portion and pack baked goods neatly
• Ensure presentation meets brand standards
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations and baking tools
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations
• Store ingredients properly (fridge, freezer, dry storage)
• Ensure proper labeling and date tracking
• Monitor ingredient stock levels (flour, butter, sugar, etc.)
• Inform supervisor when ingredients are low
• Check quality and freshness of ingredients
• Assist in stock count and inventory management
• Clean and maintain baking equipment (mixer, oven, trays)
• Report equipment faults or maintenance needs
• Ensure tools are stored properly after use
• Work closely with kitchen and service team
• Follow production schedule
• Assist in opening and closing duties
• Support team during busy periods
