Job summary

Northern Point Technology is seeking a backend-focused engineer to design and develop digital banking backends and platforms. You will deliver high-quality, maintainable code while driving performance, security, and scalability in a high-concurrency environment.

You will collaborate with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into robust technical designs, build internal tooling, and explore AI-enabled approaches to accelerate R&D in banking solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/IS/AI or related field.
• At least 1 year of backend development experience in C++ or Python.
• Experience with agentic AI or Harness Engineering.
• Strong CS fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, networks, OS.
• Experience with databases and middleware (MySQL, Redis, Kafka, microservices/K8s).

Responsibilities

• Participate in design, development, and optimization of digital banking backends.
• Contribute to server-side architecture for scalable, secure systems.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs with cross-functional teams.
• Optimize performance, stability, and resource use for high-concurrency scenarios.
• Develop internal developer tools, automation scripts, workflows.
• Explore AI technologies and assess their banking applications.
• Leverage AI-assisted coding to streamline coding, testing, delivery.
