ScienTec Consulting Pte. Ltd. is seeking an experienced Backend Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable Python backends. You will own features end-to-end, integrate with internal and external systems, and contribute to AI-powered backend capabilities.

You will work with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and modern cloud patterns in a hybrid Pasir Panjang setting, collaborating with product, engineering, and UX teams to improve system reliability and developer experience.

Formación

• 4–7 years of backend software engineering experience in production.
• Strong hands-on Python experience with FastAPI or Flask.
• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs and OAuth 2.0 authentication.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis in backend systems.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud and cloud-native patterns.
• Exposure to LLMs, RAG, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
• IaC experience with Terraform is advantageous.
• CI/CD pipelines and GitLab/GitHub workflows, strong teamwork.

Location: Pasir Panjang (Hybrid)

Job Type: Full-Time Contract (Subjected to renewal/conversion)

Salary Package: Basic UP to $9,500 (dependable on experience) + AWS + ALs and Medical benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python.
• Own backend features across the full development lifecycle, from technical design and implementation to testing, deployment, and production support.
• Build integrations with internal platforms, external systems, and third-party APIs.
• Develop and enhance AI-powered backend capabilities.
• Build and maintain data processing pipelines for reliable and efficient information retrieval.
• Work with relational and non-relational databases to deliver performant and resilient backend systems.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve system reliability, observability, and operational performance.
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices across testing, CI/CD, security, and maintainability.
• Continuously improve platform architecture, performance, scalability, and developer experience.

Requirements

• Min. 4 - 7 years of backend software engineering experience in a production environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, including frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
• Experience designing and integrating RESTful APIs, third-party APIs, and OAuth 2.0 / token-based authentication.
• Experience working with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure.
• Exposure to LLMs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), prompt engineering, and vector databases
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform would be advantageous
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, GitHub, or equivalent version control and deployment workflows.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across product, engineering, and UX teams.
