Job summary

Silesia Flavours Southeast Asia Pte Ltd is seeking an Automation Engineer to maintain, troubleshoot and support Siemens PLC, HMI, SCADA, and related automation systems in a manufacturing environment.

You will work with plant equipment and networks, participate in upgrades and commissioning, and provide stand-by support for 24-hour operations. Strong PLC, HMI, SCADA and Ethernet/Profibus/Modbus experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or advanced diploma in electrical engineering, mechatronics, automation, instrumentation, computing or related field.
• 3–4 years of relevant experience in process automation, manufacturing or product-handling automation.
• Strong working knowledge of Siemens PLC and PLC-based process control systems.
• Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, VSD/VFD, instrumentation and industrial communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and support Siemens PLC, HMI, VSD/VFD, SCADA, DCS, BMS and other automation systems.
• Perform regular backups and maintain version control of PLC, HMI, VSD and controller programs.
• Troubleshoot automation issues involving hardware, instrumentation, control logic, programming and communication networks.
• Review P&IDs, Functional Design Specifications (FDS) and other engineering documents.
• Troubleshoot and maintain industrial communication systems including Ethernet, PROFIBUS and MODBUS.
• Support interfaces between PLC, SCADA, DCS, BMS, instruments and other plant systems.
• Participate in automation projects, system upgrades, commissioning and implementation of new equipment.
• Coordinate with HQ, Siemens, vendors, system integrators and third-party contractors on new implementations and system changes.
• Provide basic automation system training to end-users when required.
• Identify opportunities for automation improvements, system reliability and process efficiency.

About the role

This role involves maintaining, troubleshooting and supporting Siemens PLC, HMI, VSD/VFD, SCADA, DCS, BMS and other automation systems in a manufacturing environment. You will work with industrial control systems, communication networks and plant equipment, participating in system upgrades, commissioning and implementation of new equipment while supporting the plant's 24-hour operation.

Key responsibilities

About you

• Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Instrumentation, Computing or a related field

• Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience in process automation, manufacturing or product-handling automation

• Strong working knowledge of Siemens PLC and PLC-based process control systems

• Experience with PLC, HMI, SCADA, VSD/VFD, instrumentation and industrial communication systems

• Knowledge of Ethernet, PROFIBUS and MODBUS

• Good troubleshooting, communication and interpersonal skills

• Positive attitude and strong team-player mindset

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

• Able to implement and follow safe work procedures

• Willing to provide standby support when required
