Job summary

SPH Print Centre in Singapore is seeking an Associate Engineer (Facilities) to support daily facilities operations, maintenance, and reliable performance of critical building systems.

You will monitor M&E equipment such as chillers, ACMV, cooling towers and electrical distribution, supervise external contractors, and assist in project coordination for system upgrades. Fresh Diploma graduates are welcome to apply and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent in Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience preferred; fresh graduates welcome.
• Knowledge of M&E systems, fire safety, and electrical distribution is helpful.

Overview

The Associate Engineer (Facilities) will be responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, and reliable performance of critical building systems at SPH Print Centre.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily facilities operations, planned maintenance, and troubleshooting of M&E (Mechanical and Electrical) systems.
• Conduct routine inspections and performance monitoring of critical M&E systems, including chillers, ACMV (Air Conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation), cooling towers, pumps, and electrical distribution systems.
• Supervise and inspect maintenance work performed by external contractors on M&E, fire alarm, and other critical equipment to ensure strict compliance with safety, operational, and regulatory standards.
• Assist in project coordination for facility improvements, system upgrades, and equipment replacement projects.

Qualifications

• NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, or Building Services Engineering, preferably with 1-2 years of relevant experience in facility or industrial plant maintenance.
• Good foundational understanding of chiller plant operations, electrical distribution systems, and fire safety systems.
• Basic knowledge of PLC/SCADA, building automation, and control systems would be a distinct advantage.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with internal departments and external vendors.
• Able to work rotating shifts including night shifts, and on weekends and public holidays
• Physically fit and prepared to work overtime, when necessary, particularly during critical maintenance or plant shutdown periods.
