We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Warehouse Assistant Manager to support the Logistics Manager in overseeing warehouse operations, transportation, and delivery activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient inventory flow, cost-effective logistics management, high service levels, and compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and safety standards.
The role requires strong leadership, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across warehouse, logistics, procurement, sales, and production teams.
Assist in managing daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and dispatch.
Ensure efficient utilization of warehouse space and maintain accurate inventory records.
Monitor stock accuracy through regular cycle counts and inventory audits.
Ensure compliance with warehouse safety requirements, housekeeping standards, and operational procedures.
Supervise warehouse personnel and coordinate work schedules to achieve operational targets.
Monitor warehouse productivity and operational performance.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and productivity.
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are processed accurately and on time.
Assist in coordinating transportation and delivery activities to ensure timely and cost-effective deliveries.
Monitor delivery schedules and work closely with transport providers and logistics partners.
Review transportation performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Monitor vehicle utilization, fuel consumption, maintenance, and related logistics expenses where applicable.
Resolve operational issues relating to deliveries, transportation, and warehouse activities.
Assist in preparing and managing the annual logistics and warehouse operating budget.
Monitor logistics expenses, including transportation, warehousing, fuel, maintenance, and outsourced logistics services.
Analyse operational costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Review vendor quotations and negotiate service rates where appropriate.
Monitor vendor and contract performance to ensure agreed service levels are maintained.
Prepare monthly budget reports and variance analyses for management review.
Ensure efficient utilization of company resources while maintaining service quality and operational standards.
Coordinate with procurement, sales, and production teams to ensure smooth inventory flow.
Monitor inventory levels to prevent stock shortages and excess inventory.
Support demand planning and inventory replenishment activities.
Monitor stock movement and identify slow-moving, excess, or obsolete inventory.
Ensure timely processing and accurate documentation of inbound and outbound shipments.
Investigate inventory discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain and warehouse operations.
Supervise, guide, and motivate warehouse personnel to achieve operational objectives.
Allocate manpower and work assignments according to operational requirements.
Monitor staff performance, productivity, attendance, and compliance with company procedures.
Provide training and coaching to warehouse staff where required.
Promote a strong culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Warehouse Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Relevant experience in warehouse, logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
Experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a warehouse or logistics environment will be an advantage.
Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, transportation, and logistics processes.
Experience with ERP/WMS systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and logistics partners.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for reporting, analysis, and cost monitoring.
Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple operational priorities.
Knowledge of workplace safety requirements and warehouse best practices.
