Job summary

Public Service Division in Singapore seeks a Business Development professional to advance association congresses and position Singapore as a premier MICE destination for conferences, conventions and meetings.

You will collaborate with cross-divisional teams to build a calendar of non-profit and association events in biomedical and health sciences, gather market intelligence, and lead local and overseas business development efforts with partners and STB offices. Occasional travel is required.

Qualifications

• At least 3 to 5 years of working experience.
• Analytical ability and strong writing skills.
• Interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong business development or customer account management.
• MS Office Experience.

Responsibilities

• Work with a cross-divisional team to establish a pipeline and calendar of non-profit or association events within the biomedical, applied health sciences and healthcare sectors.
• Gather and analyse market intelligence data to increase Singapore’s competitiveness in attracting and creating business events.
• Undertake business development activities locally and overseas, working with not-for-profit stakeholders, MICE intermediaries and STB Regional Offices in bids for conventions and meetings.
• Lead industry alliances and support conventions and meetings sector growth.

[What the role is]

Business Development for Association Congresses to be held in Singapore. The goal is to develop Singapore as a leading MICE destination for association conventions, congresses & meetings.

[What you will be working on]

You will work with a cross-divisional team to establish a pipeline and robust calendar of non-profit or association events within the biomedical, applied health sciences and healthcare sectors. By gathering and analysing market intelligence data, you will help to increase Singapore’s competitiveness in attracting and creating business events.

You will need to be proactive in undertaking business development activities, both local and overseas, working closely with not-for-profit stakeholders, MICE intermediaries and STB Regional Offices in bids for conventions & meetings to build a pipeline of association conventions.

In addition, you will support conventions and meetings sector growth by implementing industry developmental initiatives, and lead key industry alliances.

Role involves travel.
