Job summary

Qualifications

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Project Management:

• To prepare tender, evaluate and recommend to management during tender process.


• Develop comprehensive space planning and design layouts for school fit-out and improvement projects.


• Take ownership to guide users in planning and facilitate useful and productive discussions during design, construction and post construction. This includes cross coordination with aspects such facilities maintenance and upgrading.


• Lead, coordinate, manage to ensure users’ requirements are duly captured and resolved, obtaining approvals from users during various stages (design, construction and post construction) including signing off for milestone documents and reports, and ensuring that records of discussions are correctly and accurately captured.


• Identify, assess and mitigate risks arising from design decisions, infrastructure constraints and project changes.


• Manage quotation solicitation and open tender processes for contractors, ensuring alignment with project specifications and budget parameters.


• Oversee the entire project lifecycle from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgetary allocations.


• Coordinate with various stakeholders including architects, contractors, and school administrators to ensure smooth project execution.


• Prepare detailed project reports and updates for management.


• Secretariat roles and responsibilities.


• Any other duties assigned by director.

Budget and Financial Management:

• Manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.


• Monitor project expenditures and ensure financial targets are met.


• Negotiate contracts and manage financial agreements with contractors and suppliers.

Compliance and Quality Assurance:

• Ensure all projects comply with safety standards, quality and relevant regulatory requirements.


• Conduct regular site inspections to ensure high standards of work.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead project teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.


• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Job Specification

• At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience in the built environment of relevant project delivery experience.


• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Architectural, Civil & Structural/Electrical/Mechanical, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.


• Experience managing projects in multiple countries

• Strong understanding of full construction project lifecycle management.


• Strong understanding in quantity surveying principles, cost estimation, budgeting, and financial governance.


• Experience in tendering, procurement, contract administration, variations, and claims management.


• Ability to interpret cost reports and financial projections.


• Ability to read construction drawings, perform space planning and draft layout plans.


• Candidates with developer/consultants in the build environment industry background highly preferred.


• Good knowledge in Building Regulations and Codes, Space Planning, Design Development and Detailing.


• Good leadership qualities and strategic planning capabilities.


• Good data analytical skills and project management skills.


• Team player with good interpersonal communication skills to collaborate and manage with various Stakeholders.


• Leading and managing fit-out/improvement projects, including site reconnaissance, feasibility analysis, space planning, tender management, progress monitoring, and contractor coordination.


• Effective in managing project budgets and timelines, optimizing resource allocation for cost-effectiveness and timely delivery


• Experienced in streamlining operation processes and enhancing workflow efficiency.


• Versatile and capable of managing diverse concurrent projects.


• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced features of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
