Job Purpose
The Assistant Manager, Employee Data Management leads a team responsible for accurate and timely maintenance of employee data and HR transactions within the Shared Services environment. The role oversees SAP employee data administration, supports employee lifecycle and payroll-related processes, ensures compliance with data governance, audit and confidentiality requirements, and drives continuous improvement to strengthen service delivery and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Employee Data Management Operations
- Motivate, provide guidance, coaching and operational support to team members, while monitoring quality, productivity and adherence to standard procedures and completed accurately within agreed service levels.
- Act as the escalation point for complex employee data matters and coordinate timely resolution with relevant stakeholders.
Manage SAP Employee Data and Transactions
- Ensure accurate, timely input of employee and company data in SAP, aligned with audit, compliance, and confidentiality requirements.
- Maintain complete supporting documentation and transaction records in accordance with established controls.
Support and collaboration with Key Stakeholders
- Partner with Payroll and relevant HR teams to ensure employee data changes are accurately reflected for payroll processing and other downstream HR activities.
- Coordinate with Business Units, HR Business Partners, Group HR and Information Systems teams on policy, process and system changes.
Ensure Governance, Compliance and Data Confidentiality
- Ensure compliance and data governance by handling employee data in accordance with internal policies, approval requirements, audit controls, confidentiality standards, SOPs, access controls and data-management requirements.
- Support audit and risk management by retrieving records, responding to internal and external audit queries, addressing control gaps, and promptly escalating risks, exceptions or non-compliance.
Drive Process Improvement and Reporting
- Drive process improvement by identifying gaps, analyzing root causes, and implementing workflow, system and control enhancements with stakeholders.
- Support operational effectiveness by maintaining SOPs and training materials and preparing reports and metrics for performance and workload management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience in HR operations, employee data administration or HR Shared Services , including responsibility for high-volume and time-sensitive transactions .
- Hands-on experience with SAP HR/HCM or a comparable Human Resources Information System is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience supervising, guiding or leading an operational team is required.
- Experience supporting payroll inputs, audit requirements, service-level delivery and process improvement will be advantageous.
