Job summary

National University Health System is seeking a VDO Management (Research) professional to lead research and operational analytics within the Value Driven Outcomes program. You will collaborate with healthcare professionals to design research ideas, analyze healthcare data using statistical tools and machine learning, and publish insights at conferences and journals.

The role includes descriptive analytics and quality improvement work, alongside research project management and stakeholder

Qualifications

  • PhD or MSc in statistics, mathematics, data science, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Experience in medical research is a plus.
  • Expertise in health services research and applied statistics with study design, data analysis, and outcome evaluation.
  • Proficiency in AI methodologies (machine learning, predictive modelling) where applicable.
  • Ability to manage and execute projects from conceptualization to implementation, including data transformation and interpretation.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python/R with data manipulation.
  • Experience with Tableau and Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Job description

This VDO Management (Research) is a position within Value Driven Outcomes (VDO) office responsible for managing Research projects (20%) and Operational Analytical work (80%).

Research projects

Successful candidate will work with healthcare professional to formulate research ideas, analyse and interpret healthcare data using statistical tools and machine learning and present insights through conference and journal publications.

Operational work

Successful candidate will work on assigned VDO office work (e.g. descriptive analytics, quality improvement project, etc) and any administrative work related to research or operational work.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with stakeholders to identify problems and formulate research strategy or quality improvement project

  • Use machine learning and statistical techniques to solve problems

Job Requirements:
  1. PhD and/or Master's degree in Statistic/Mathematic/Data Science or relevant discipline with at least 2 years of working related experience.
  2. Experience in medical research is a plus.
  3. Expertise in health services research (HSR) and applied statistics, with experience in study design, data analysis, and outcome evaluation.
  4. Strong background in developing and implementing data-driven solutions for healthcare improvement, with proficiency in AI methodologies (e.g., machine learning, predictive modelling) where applicable.
  5. Proven ability to independently manage and execute projects across diverse health services domains, from conceptualization through to implementation, including data transformation, analysis, and interpretation.
  6. Proficiency in programming languages (SQL and Python/R) with experience in using analytical frameworks to solve healthcare-related problems.
  7. Experienced in Tableau and Microsoft applications.
  8. Excellent stakeholder management and multitasking skills.
  9. Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
  10. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  11. Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
