Job summary

The Singapore Island Country Club is seeking an Assistant General Manager to join the senior management team and support the General Manager in leading a premier private members' club.

This hands-on leadership role requires cross-department oversight across golf, sports, F&B, facilities, and member relations, with a focus on service standards, committee engagement and delivering an exceptional member experience.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• PGA qualification or equivalent is preferred.
• Proven track record as General Manager or Senior Executive in golf/ country club/ private members’ club.

Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in the overall management and daily operation of the Club.
• Provide leadership across all operational departments and ensure effective coordination between golf, sports, F&B, housekeeping, security, events, marketing, membership, HR, finance, IT, projects and facilities maintenance.
• Provide leadership and operational oversight across golf and sporting activities.
• Maintain a strong management presence across the Club’s facilities and member touch points.
• Ensure that operational standards, policies and procedures are consistently implemented.
• Identify operational weaknesses and develop practical solutions to improve efficiency, service and member satisfaction.
• Maintain a strong focus on delivering an exceptional private members’ club experience.
• Regularly review member touch points and identify opportunities to improve service standards.
• Engage directly with members and understand their expectations, concerns and priorities.
• Developing positive relationships with members and Club committee representatives.
• Hire, train and schedule department staff, while building strong teamwork

The Assistant General Manager will be a senior member of the Club's management team, supporting the General Manager in the overall leadership, management and development of a premier private members' club. This is a hands-on leadership position requiring an individual who can move confidently across all areas of the Club, identify opportunities for improvement, engage with committees, members and employees, and ensure that agreed standards are consistently delivered.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in the overall management and daily operation of the Club

• Provide leadership across the Club's operational departments and ensure effective coordination between departments across golf, sports, F&B, housekeeping, security, events, marketing, membership, human resources, finance, IT, projects and facilities maintenance

• Provide leadership and operational oversight across golf and sporting activities.

• Maintain a strong management presence across the Club's facilities and member touch points

• Ensure that operational standards, policies and procedures are consistently implemented

• Identify operational weaknesses and develop practical solutions to improve efficiency, service and member satisfaction

About you

• Degree in Business, Hospitality Management, or a related field

• Professional Golf Association (PGA) qualification or equivalent recognised professional golf qualification is preferred

• Proven track record and experience as a General Manager or Senior Executive within a golf club, country club or private members' club organisation

• Strong leadership and clear communication skills

• Budgeting skills and an eye for high quality

• Must be ready to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
