Objectives of the position
A highly skilled and motivated Assistant Finance Manager to co-manage the finance and accounting functions for our Singapore entities. The successful candidate will play a pivotal, hands-on role in overseeing daily operations, conducting financial analysis, and ensuring the accurate and timely completion of financial closing and tax reporting. This position offers significant opportunity for growth as our business expands.
Key Responsibilities
- Co-manage the full scope of finance and accounting functions for the two Singaporean legal entities alongside the Finance Manager, with a scope that is expected to grow as the business expands. Lead and mentor a team of three employees, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Oversee daily financial operations for the Singapore entities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and general ledger.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing and reporting.
- Assist in developing and managing the company\'s annual budget and financial forecasts.
- Conduct detailed financial analysis, such as variance and cost-benefit analysis, to provide actionable insights for management.
- Uphold and enforce financial policies and procedures to strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with local regulations and corporate directives.
- Review and approve journal entries and bank and account reconciliations.
- Manage tax reporting responsibilities, including quarterly GST filings and annual reporting.
- Prepare detailed financial statements and support external audits by coordinating with auditors and providing necessary schedules and documentation.
- Monitor cash flow and projections and recommend funding activities as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial guidance and support cross-functional projects.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or an equivalent professional qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA). A master’s degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience in financial accounting, with a strong understanding of both IFRS and local GAAP.
- Experience working in a German or other European Multinational Enterprise is a plus.
