Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Singapore is seeking an Assistant Engineer to oversee M&E facilities within our building portfolio. The role focuses on maintaining reliable mechanical and electrical services and coordinating with contractors to ensure seamless operations.

You will lead daily inspections, implement maintenance regimes, and support fire safety compliance while reporting to the Employer. A technical diploma and several years in FM are required, with opportunities for professional growth in

• NITEC/Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ or FM Engineering related discipline.
• Min 5 years in FM related field with familiarity in M&E systems, ACMV and chiller systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain M&E facilities for the building.
• Oversee day-to-day M&E system functions and plan repairs.
• Develop and maintain maintenance regimes and improve building services.
• Supervise outsourced contractors and ensure minimal disruption.
• Attend monthly Employer meetings and be on-site during emergencies.
• Conduct daily site inspections to ensure proper maintenance and safety.
• Enforce fire safety measures and report incidents.
• Interpret contract instructions and execute promptly.

About The Role

• Responsible for the management and maintenance of the M&E facilities in the Building.
• Oversee functions and activities of day-to-day M&E systems and prepare a systematic approach to repair, maintenance and improvement work.
• Develop, implement, review and maintain the maintenance regime and processes review processes and implement improvement to building services.
• Oversees the works carried out by the outsourced contractors and to ensure minimal disruption to the building operation.
• Attend all monthly meetings with the Employer and be physically present on-site during emergencies unless obtained the prior permission from the Employer to absent himself/ herself from the meeting or emergencies, and that an authorised representative will be attending on his/her behalf.
• The assistant engineer shall carry out daily inspections under the Contract to ensure that the Site is well maintained. The Employer may as and when require request for joint inspection.
• To carry out daily maintenance of M&E systems/ building activities.
• To supervise and ensure all M&E and building services under the Contract are properly maintained and in efficient operating condition.
• To monitor all scheduled, breakdown and unscheduled and cyclical maintenance works.
• To schedule, monitor and ensure scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities and additional M&E and building services under the Contract are carried out effectively.
• To supervise a team of staff deployed on site.
• To carry out daily inspection of M&E systems and building to ensure that are defects are promptly rectified as spelt out in the service standard.
• Assist in enforcing fire safety rules and policing for fire safety measures for the Site.
• Any instruction given by the Employer to the Engineer shall be deemed to be instructions to the Contractor who shall carry them out expeditiously.

About You

• NITEC/Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical/ or any other FM Engineering related discipline.
• Min 5 years in FM related (Familiar with M&E System, ACMV, Chiller system).
