Job summary

The AI & Data Office at the Ministry of Manpower is seeking an Assistant Director to drive enterprise data and artificial intelligence initiatives across the organisation. You will develop strategies, coordinate cross-functional programmes, and oversee projects from concept to implementation.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, build partnerships with stakeholders, and champion responsible data and AI use while enabling policy and organisational transformation.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in data, analytics, AI, digital transformation, policy or related fields.
• Experience in data, analytics, AI, digital transformation or programme management.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience leading teams and driving organisational change is advantageous.

What the role is:

The AI & Data Office (AIDO) drives the adoption of data and artificial intelligence across the Ministry of Manpower. As an Assistant Director, you will contribute to the development and implementation of initiatives that strengthen data capabilities, support AI adoption, and enable innovation across the organisation. You will work closely with stakeholders to identify needs, deliver projects and support the implementation of data- and AI-related programmes. This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of policy, operations, technology and data transformation.

What you will be working on:

• Lead the planning and implementation of enterprise-wide data and AI initiatives.
• Develop strategies and frameworks to support the effective and responsible use of data and AI.
• Partner stakeholders across business and policy domains to identify opportunities for transformation and innovation.
• Drive the adoption of data-driven and AI-enabled solutions to improve organisational outcomes.
• Manage and oversee strategic projects from conceptualisation through implementation.
• Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to advance data and AI capabilities.
• Develop and implement change management and capability-building initiatives to support adoption across the organisation.
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team to deliver impactful outcomes.

What we are looking for:

• Tertiary qualifications in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Policy, Business Analytics, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Relevant experience in data, analytics, AI, digital transformation, technology, policy, or programme management.
• Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing complex projects and multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Ability to translate business needs into practical and scalable solutions.
