Job summary

Markel Asia Pacific invites graduates to join the Asia Underwriting programme where you will rotate through divisions such as Energy, Marine, PFR and TCPR. You’ll receive structured training, perform back-office support, and learn to assess and underwrite client risk while building relationships with brokers and clients.

Qualifications

• GPA requirement: Achieved or on track for at least 3.0/4.0 or 4.0/5.0 scales.
• Eligible to start on or before 4 August 2025.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training with senior employees.
• Perform back-office support tasks for underwriters (administrative tasks, data management).
• Learn insurance terms and acronyms used in the sector.
• Learn how to assess, rate, quote and underwrite client risk.
• Attend lunches/events to build broker/client relationships and deliver good service.
• Collaborate with departments (finance, actuarial, compliance) to complete tasks and grow underwriter skills.
• Data entry using multiple systems, including Excel.
• Study towards a credible Singapore College of Insurance qualification.
• Attend regular check-ins to review performance and progress autonomy.
