Job summary

Markel is expanding its Renewable Energy team in Singapore to develop a profitable, long-term underwriting book for the APAC region. You will collaborate with the Energy and Power Director to shape strategy, grow broker networks, and represent Markel at industry meetings and events.

Ideal candidates bring Renewable Energy underwriting experience, strong numerical skills, excellent communication, and a proactive, team-oriented mindset.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Renewable Energy insurance underwriting.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to develop Singapore and international distribution networks.
• Team player with a proactive attitude.
• Willingness to travel internationally for meetings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement underwriting strategy and business plan for Singapore and APAC.
• Build long-term profitable book of business through broker relationships.
• Market our products, including international travel and representing Markel at events.
• Apply sound underwriting judgment and monitor performance against plan.
• Implement risk management practices including aggregation governance and monitoring exposures.
• Provide underwriting support to overseas offices and handle referral approvals.
• Champion development of associates to help team reach potential.
• Monitor and report portfolio performance.
• Seek and implement end-to-end process and data management improvements.
• Prioritise customer experience with fast response times.
