Job summary

Maybank Securities (MSSG) is seeking an AS400 engineer with 8+ years of experience to join our back-office team in a dynamic financial services environment in Singapore. You will ensure post-trade back office systems run smoothly, while developing new processes to improve performance and reliability.

You will design and maintain AS400 modules (RPG/CL), manage OS upgrades and LPARs, and lead the development of critical post-trade applications for matching, settlement and payment processing.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years in technical support with trading or financial services applications.
• Expert-level proficiency in implementing and managing AS400 systems.
• Advanced knowledge of DB2/400, complex SQL, and data mapping for financial transactions.
• Deep understanding of capital markets, custody, clearing, and post-trade settlement cycles.
• Experience with high-availability tools, backup/recovery, and system performance tuning.
• Familiarity with SWIFT messaging standards and MQ integration.

Job Description

MSSG is looking for a dynamic and skilled AS400 engineer with 8+ years of experience to join our team. In this role, you’ll ensure that our post trading back office systems run smoothly, and you’ll also have the opportunity to develop new processes and improvements. You will maintain and improve applications within the backoffice trading ecosystem. You’ll work closely with users to solve problems and make our applications even better.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2/3 support for production incidents in highly sensitive financial environments, often across multiple global sites
• Design and maintain software modules using languages like RPG (III, IV, Free Form) and CL.
• Perform OS upgrades, manage LPAR configurations, and handle patch management to ensure system stability.
• Enhance the AS400 system by developing new processes, and refreshing existing processes to ensure optimal performance.
• Lead the design and development of critical post‑trade applications used for trade matching, settlement, and payment processing.
• Automate and streamline complex post‑execution operations, including trade booking, intercompany settlements, and connectivity to global exchanges or clearing houses.
• Lead initiatives to integrate legacy AS/400 applications with modern platforms using APIs, web services, or middleware like IBM App Connect Enterprise or MQ.
• Ensure systems meet stringent regulatory requirements for data integrity, security hardening and disaster recovery.
• Coordinate overall testing, approval and deployment of new enhancements, including post‑deployment verifications.
• Handle ad‑hoc tasks such as generating reports and providing custom data analysis upon request.
• Monitor application performance, identify areas for improvement, and take proactive steps to prevent future issues.
