Job summary

Recruit Express Pte Ltd invites an experienced technical support lead to manage AS/400 environments within the financial services domain. The role covers design, implementation, and support of AS/400-based modules, with emphasis on stability, performance, and regulatory compliance across global sites.

You will drive integration of legacy applications with modern platforms, oversee testing and deployment of enhancements, and provide data analysis as needed to support business operations.

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of experience in technical support with trading or financial services applications.
• Expert-level proficiency in implementing and managing AS400 systems.
• Advanced knowledge of DB2/400, complex SQL concepts, and data mapping for financial transactions.
• Deep understanding of capital markets, custody, clearing, and post-trade settlement cycles.
• Experience with high-availability tools, backup/recovery, and system performance tuning.
• Familiarity with SWIFT messaging standards and integration protocols like MQ.
• Strong problem-solving abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and with a team in a dynamic environment.
• Keen interest in financial markets.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2/3 support for production incidents in highly sensitive financial environments.
• Design and maintain software modules using RPG and CL.
• Perform OS upgrades, manage LPAR configurations, and handle patch management.
• Enhance AS400 system by developing new processes and refreshing existing ones.
• Lead design and development of post-trade applications for trade matching and settlement.
• Automate complex post-execution operations including trade booking and intercompany settlements.
• Integrate legacy AS/400 apps with modern platforms using APIs or middleware like MQ.
• Ensure systems meet regulatory requirements for data integrity and security.
• Coordinate testing, approval and deployment of new enhancements.
• Handle ad-hoc reports and data analysis tasks.
• Monitor performance and proactively prevent issues.

• Provide Level 2/3 support for production incidents in highly sensitive financial environments, often across multiple global sites
• Designing and maintaining software modules using languages like RPG (III, IV, Free Form) and CL.
• Performing OS upgrades, managing LPAR configurations, and handling patch management to ensure system stability.
• Enhance the AS400 system by developing new process, and refreshing existing process to ensure optimal performance.
• Lead the design and development of critical post-trade applications used for trade matching, settlement, and payment processing.
• Automate and streamline complex post-execution operations, including trade booking, intercompany settlements, and connectivity to global exchanges or clearing houses.
• Lead initiatives to integrate legacy AS/400 applications with modern platforms using APIs, web services, or middleware like IBM App Connect Enterprise or MQ.
• Ensure systems meet stringent regulatory requirements for data integrity, security, security hardening and disaster recovery.
• Coordinate overall testing, approval and deployment of new enhancements, including post-deployment verifications.
• Handle ad-hoc tasks such as generating reports and providing custom data analysis upon request.
• Keep an eye of application’s performance, identify areas for improvement, and take proactive steps to prevent future issues.
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by supervisor.
