Job summary

GMP Technologies (S) Pte Ltd is seeking an Application Support Specialist (Capital Markets) to monitor applications, manage incidents, and drive continuous improvement in trading lifecycle support. The role supports multiple users including traders and risk operators, with a strong emphasis on data quality, regression avoidance, and proactive problem solving.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of application support experience.
• ITIL certification mandatory.
• Strong Capital Markets domain and trading lifecycle knowledge.
• Experience with external data sources such as Bloomberg and Reuters.
• Proficient in SQL with XML/PL-SQL, MQ, CFT, Control-M and Kafka.
• Familiar with Kubernetes, Docker, cloud platforms and NoSQL databases.
• Unix/Linux proficiency, PowerShell scripting and Python programming.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools like ITRS Geneos, Elasticsearch, and Grafana.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage SLA/KPI, client communication, escalation and risk analysis.

Responsibilities:

Application Monitoring

• Define and implement application monitoring in collaboration with the build team.
• Supervise and monitor daily and monthly batch chains, coordinating with project, infrastructure, and production teams.
• Support overnight batch processes occurring during Singapore mornings and early afternoons to minimize downtime.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on risk chain data quality, with a focus on monthly runs.

Incident and Request Management

• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 application support to business users including traders, risk managers, market risk monitoring operators, back-office and middle-office analysts, and market data administrators.
• Analyze and manage incidents, problems, and user requests.

Problem Management & Continuous Improvement

• Maintain and update the knowledge base in collaboration with build and operations teams.
• Work closely with the build team to prioritize and resolve problems, contributing to long-term solutions.
• Provide non-functional requirements for monitoring as code implementations.
• Develop and maintain automated solutions and programmable code based on technical specifications.

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 years of application support experience.
• ITIL certification is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of Capital Markets domain and trading lifecycle.
• Sound knowledge of Regulatory Reporting requirements (MAS, HKMA, EMIR, JFSA, CFTC, MiFID).
• Experience working with external data sources such as Bloomberg and Reuters.
• Proficient in SQL, with knowledge of XML, PL/SQL, MQ, CFT, Control-M, and Kafka.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, cloud platforms, and NoSQL databases.
• High proficiency in Unix/Linux environments, PowerShell scripting, and Python programming.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as ITRS Geneos, Elasticsearch, and Grafana.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage SLA/KPI, client communication, escalation, and risk analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Autonomous, self-motivated, and a committed team player.
• Ability to work well under pressure with effective time management.
