Job description

Functional Support

• Work with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into functional and technical solutions.
• Analyze, design, and support enhancements to existing applications and new system functionalities.
• Perform data analysis, testing, and validation to ensure solutions meet business and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with project leads, users, and development teams to improve business processes and application functionality.

Technical Support

• Provide application support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution for Java-based applications in the production environment.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries for reporting, troubleshooting, and data analysis.
• Support project implementation activities, change requests, and post-implementation production support.
• Monitor application performance and recommend improvements to enhance system reliability and efficiency.

Problem Management

• Investigate and resolve application issues related to Java applications, SQL databases, and legacy systems, including COBOL applications where applicable.
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend preventive or corrective actions.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.

Collaboration

• Work closely with business users, project leads, developers, and other technical teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience in application development, application support, or software implementation.
• Experience with Java programming and SQL database development, including writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Experience supporting application implementations, software enhancements, change requests, or production (BAU) support.
• Knowledge of Enterprise Java frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, or JPA is an advantage.
• Experience with frontend development using React and Type is an advantage.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel VBA or Excel Macros is an advantage.
• Willingness to learn and support legacy technologies such as COBOL.
