We are seeking an Application Project Manager to manage the delivery of software application projects, including new implementations, enhancements and system integrations. The successful candidate will coordinate business stakeholders, technical teams and vendors to deliver projects within agreed scope, timelines, budget and quality standards.
Manage the full application project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and planning through development, testing, deployment and post-implementation support.
Define project scope, deliverables, milestones, resource requirements and budgets with business and technical stakeholders.
Develop and maintain project plans, track progress and resolve issues affecting delivery.
Coordinate business analysts, developers, testers, infrastructure teams and external vendors.
Facilitate requirements discussions and ensure business needs are translated into clear specifications and acceptance criteria.
Manage project risks, dependencies and scope changes, including assessing their impact on cost and timelines.
Monitor project expenditure, resource utilisation and vendor performance.
Provide regular project updates and elevate issues requiring management decisions.
Oversee system integration testing and user acceptance testing, including defect resolution and business sign-off.
Coordinate deployment readiness, cutover activities, rollback planning and go-live support.
Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
At least 5 years of relevant IT experience, including 3 years managing application or software development projects.
Demonstrated experience delivering application projects involving multiple stakeholders and technical teams.
Strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery approaches.
Experience managing project schedules, budgets, risks, change requests and vendors.
Working knowledge of application architecture, APIs, databases and system integration.
Experience coordinating testing, UAT, deployment and transition to support.
Strong communication, stakeholder management, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and drive issues through to resolution.
Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Microsoft Project or Azure DevOps.
