Job summary

Datalec Precision Installations (DPI) is seeking an Operations Director (APAC) to lead regional project delivery across data centre initiatives, reporting to the Executive Vice President (APAC). The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on leadership of manpower, subcontractors, logistics, HSE, quality, and commercial control to ensure safe, on-time, on-budget project execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operational delivery of APAC data centre projects.
• Develop and implement delivery strategies with the EVP to support growth.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to regional project teams.
• Build and retain a high-performing operations team.
• Ensure labour, materials and resources meet programme objectives.
• Coordinate PM, engineering, procurement, logistics and HSE across sites.
• Oversee projects from bid through handover with quality and contractual compliance.
• Monitor KPIs, budgets and milestones; take corrective actions.
• Maintain effective project controls including planning and cost control.
• Drive standardisation and continuous improvement of delivery processes.
• Champion Health, Safety and Wellbeing culture; ensure compliance.
• Embed governance, quality, environmental and information security.
• Support HSE audits, inspections and incident investigations.
• Plan and procure materials, tools and equipment for delivery.
• Control assets; optimise utilisation and minimise waste.
• Manage subcontractor performance across projects.
• Maintain accountability for financial and commercial performance.
• Drive cost efficiency through manpower and variations management.
• Develop strong client relationships; act as operational escalation point.
• Identify and escalate risks to protect performance and reputation.
• Represent the business and uphold DPI values with stakeholders.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection and ISO standards.
