Job summary

Symrise AG in Singapore seeks an Assistant MES Engineer to support MES applications, data reporting and dashboard development across APAC, including China and India. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure GMP compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Automation, Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Strong interest in manufacturing digitalization, automation and Industry 4.0 technologies.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems.
• Familiarity with MES, ERP systems or industrial automation systems will be advantageous.
• Knowledge of data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau or MicroStrategy will be advantageous.
• Experience with SQL, database queries or reporting tools will be an added advantage.
• Understanding of GMP-regulated environments will be beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Innovative mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn new technologies.
• Effective communicator with ability to work across cross functional and multicultural teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level support, monitoring and maintenance for MES applications and production equipment.
• Troubleshoot MES, system, machine and automation issues with IT, Maintenance and vendors.
• Generate reports and extract MES data to support decision-making.
• Develop dashboards and visualizations to improve performance visibility.
• Implement corrective and preventive actions to maintain production automation.
• Support production teams in MES usage and training.
• Participate in system upgrades, validation, testing and improvements.
• Provide remote support for regional sites across APAC.
• Extend reporting and performance tracking to regional sites.
• Support deployment of new MES functionalities and digital initiatives.
