Job summary

GMP Technologies is seeking an experienced Application Engineer (MES) on a contract basis in Singapore. You will customize MES to support new factory workflows and automation, develop modules for automation needs, and configure MES to coordinate with shop-floor systems.

You will implement rules for equipment events, enable bi-directional communication with automation, and ensure data retention and traceability while maintaining performance and scalable data integrity.

Qualifications

5–10 years of MES experience in manufacturing.
Proven MES customization, development and shop-floor integration.
Hands-on experience with MES platforms and production operations.
Understanding of production order management, workflow config and equipment/automation integration in MES.
Experience scripting MES customizations using coding, configuration tools and MES APIs.
Strong SQL skills for querying, performance and data integrity.

Responsibilities

Customize and enhance the MES to support new factory workflows and automation processes.
Develop new MES modules or features to accommodate automation requirements (e.g., ASRS unit tracking, robot operation logging).
Configure MES to orchestrate with shop-floor automation systems.
Implement business rules to trigger MES transactions from equipment events.
MES can send commands to connected devices when required.
Enable real-time bi-directional communication between MES and automation systems.
Configure data retention, traceability, and compliance-related production history settings.
Ensure system performance, scalability, and data integrity as transaction volumes increase.
