Job summary

SOPHiA GENETICS APAC is seeking a Director, Subject Matter Expert to lead a regional team of SMEs, Implementation Scientists, and Field Application Scientists. This role will own key APAC accounts and drive technology strategy across Southeast Asia, Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, partnering with Sales to close opportunities.

The position requires strong leadership, deep genomics knowledge, and English fluency, with a commitment to improving cancer and rare disease patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• M.Sc or Ph.D in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Oncology or similar.
• 5+ years in a field-facing technical commercial role within genomics, NGS, or clinical diagnostics.
• Proven people management experience leading technical or field-facing teams.
• Experience growing strategic/key APAC accounts in healthcare or life sciences.
• Deep knowledge of NGS workflows, variant interpretation, and AI/SaaS genomic platforms.
• Ability to shape technology strategy across a multi-market region.
• Clear, effective communication of complex technical topics to commercial and technical stakeholders.
• Fluency in English, with CVs in English.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop APAC SMEs, Implementation Scientists, and Field Application Scientists across APAC.
• Define and drive technology strategy for the APAC region.
• Own accounts across Southeast Asia, Korea, Hong Kong and Taiwan as the senior technical expert.
• Partner with Sales Executives and Customer Success Managers to support and close opportunities.
• Deliver platform demonstrations and presentations at trade shows, vendor events, and seminars.
• Maintain expert knowledge of SOPHiA GENETICS products and AI SaaS solutions for NGS management and interpretation.
• Provide regional customer insights to Product Management and Commercial leadership.
• Contribute technical/clinical insight to account planning and strategy.
