Job summary

Stryker is seeking a Director, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), APAC, to lead and execute the EHS strategy across Asia Pacific. Based in Singapore, you will work with regional leaders to translate global programs into locally relevant actions, drive compliance, and develop EHS talent across diverse markets.

You will partner with Global EHS and COE, influence senior stakeholders, and coach teams to build a proactive safety culture while delivering measurable improvements in risk management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant EHS experience (10 years +) within a global, regulated organisation, ideally within medical technology, pharmaceuticals or a comparable industry.
• Experience leading regional or multi-site EHS programmes across manufacturing, commercial and distribution environments.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, ISO standards, management systems, auditing and compliance.
• Proven ability and sustained experience in leading teams, influencing through a matrixed organisation and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders.
• Strong executive communication and presentation capability, including the ability to make complex risk and regulatory information clear and actionable.
• Possess advanced cross-cultural leadership skills and experience operating across multiple APAC markets.
• Ability to travel approximately 30–40% to 40% across the APAC region.
• Fluency in Mandarin language skills will be essential.
• Preferred: MBA, MSc or equivalent; CSP/CIH/ISO 14001 Lead Auditor / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor; Lean/Six Sigma experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead APAC EHS strategy: Drive the regional execution of Stryker’s global EHS strategy across manufacturing, distribution, laboratory, commercial and field operations.
• Translate strategy into action with Global EHS leadership and the Center of Excellence to adapt programmes for APAC markets.
• Strengthen compliance and risk management with robust processes to identify hazards, assess risk and apply controls.
• Improve regional performance by establishing EHS metrics, dashboards and reporting for continuous improvement.
• Drive the pSIF program and metrics to reduce regional injuries.
• Build capability and culture by championing a proactive safety culture and developing EHS champions.
• Lead and develop EHS professionals while influencing extended teams in a matrix organisation.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to integrate EHS into planning, investments and growth.
