APAC EHS Director: Strategy, Compliance & Culture

Job summary

Stryker in Singapore is seeking a Director, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS), APAC to shape and lead the EHS strategy across Asia Pacific operations, spanning manufacturing sites, distribution facilities, laboratories and offices.

You will partner with regional leaders, Global EHS, and COE to translate global programmes into locally relevant action, develop EHS talent, and drive consistent, compliant execution across diverse APAC markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of EHS experience within a global, regulated organisation.
• Experience leading regional or multi-site EHS programmes across manufacturing, distribution and labs.
• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, ISO standards, management systems, auditing.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a matrix organisation and build trusted senior relationships.
• Strong executive communication and presentation skills for complex risk and regulatory data.
• Advanced cross-cultural leadership across multiple APAC markets.
• Willingness to travel 30-40% across the APAC region.
• Fluency in Mandarin language skills will be essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead APAC EHS strategy and regional execution across sites, labs and offices.
• Translate global EHS programmes to fit regulatory, cultural and business needs.
• Strengthen compliance and risk management with robust processes and controls.
• Establish EHS metrics, dashboards and reporting; drive injury reduction initiatives.
• Build capability and culture by engaging leadership and developing EHS champions.
• Coach EHS professionals and influence extended teams in a matrix organisation.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to integrate EHS into planning and investments.
• Provide regional leadership during significant EHS incidents and drive investigations.
