Job summary

The Japan Research Institute, Limited (Singapore Branch) is seeking a Director/VP for its Credit Department to oversee underwriting, portfolio management and risk monitoring of structured financing transactions across APAC (excluding Australia and New Zealand). You will review loan applications, manage credit portfolios and guide discussions with FO/CPM while ensuring compliance with risk policies.

Qualifications

At least 10 years’ experience within either FO or credit department of a financial institution, or a credit risk role.
Experience in leveraged/LBO financing or non-recourse fund NAV financing.
Strong understanding of legal documentation and deal structures.
Strong analytical skills to review financial statements and assess projections and credit risks.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

Review and assess new loan applications and approve or advise as per authority matrix.
Review and manage a credit portfolio with monitoring and risk mitigation.
Monitor non-performing loans and credit costs.
Prepare concise credit comments with risks and mitigants.
Engage with FO/CPM on applications, financial statements and projections; lead discussions.
Ensure accuracy of details in the online credit approval/monitoring system.
Occasional travel as required.
