Job summary

Northern Trust in Singapore seeks Head of APAC Compliance and APAC Asset Servicing Chief Compliance Officer to lead the regional compliance framework and uphold regulatory standards across jurisdictions.

You will partner with senior leaders, shape risk-based programs, oversee policy implementation, and drive governance across Enterprise Risk Management. The role requires extensive leadership and APAC regulatory expertise.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of progressive compliance experience.
• Deep knowledge of APAC regulatory frameworks.
• Strong understanding of compliance risk management and financial crimes.
• Proven ability to influence regulators, boards, and executives.
• Excellent strategic thinking, analytical skills, and judgement.
• Strong leadership presence with outstanding communication.
• Bachelor’s degree required; JD, MBA, CAMS or other advanced qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the APAC compliance strategy and oversee regional program.
• Provide forward-looking compliance guidance on initiatives and regulatory changes.
• Lead end-to-end APAC compliance program with policy governance.
• Oversee policies, controls, monitoring and quality assurance.
• Identify emerging compliance risks and ensure mitigation strategies.
• Integrate compliance with Enterprise Risk Management and risk frameworks.
• Serve as APAC Head of Compliance and APAC Asset Servicing CCO.
• Act as primary contact for regulators in the region.
• Lead exams, inquiries, remediation activities and regulatory reporting.
• Drive matrix governance with regional and global stakeholders.
• Develop a high-performing distributed team and promote collaboration.
• Ensure succession planning and resource management.
