Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking an experienced Compliance professional to support the APAC FX team in Singapore, Australia, and China. You will advise on regulatory requirements, assist in monitoring and surveillance, and represent compliance in governance forums, ensuring robust regulatory adherence across markets.

You will evaluate evolving regulations, coordinate with industry bodies, and implement changes aligned with global and regional compliance programs.

Qualifications

• Significant FX regulatory compliance experience within a global financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of MAS regulations and cross-border regimes (Singapore, Korea, Australia, China).
• Experience with FX derivatives regulations and reporting obligations (e.g., trade reporting).
• Proven ability to advise on compliance programs and partner with risk, legal and operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide compliance advisory support to APAC FX teams in Singapore, Australia and China.
• Manage monitoring and surveillance programs for APAC FX business.
• Represent compliance in governance forums and prepare required reports and data.
• Evaluate regulatory changes and propose procedural improvements.
• Review guidance and coordinate with ISDA, ASIFMA where relevant.
• Communicate implementation plans for regulatory changes and respond to queries.
• Develop inputs to regulatory requests and participate in interactions as needed.
• Advise on compliance programs, identify regulatory risks, and keep partners informed.
